The story behind SAMELIS

A name shaped by Sami, Kefalonia.

SAMELIS is an original name inspired by Sami, Kefalonia — a historic Ionian community where mountains descend toward the sea.

Ancient Same was one of Kefalonia’s principal city-states. Its position on the eastern side of the island made it a place shaped by trade, geography, conflict and renewal.

The city resisted Roman forces in the second century BC, survived destruction and later recovered. Centuries afterward, Sami and Kefalonia would again rebuild following the devastating Ionian earthquakes of 1953.

Sami endured.
