Dr. Miguel Antonatos is a board-certified internal medicine physician with over 15 years of experience caring for complex medical patients in both hospital and telemedicine settings. He is known for his thoughtful, evidence-based approach to metabolic health, weight management, and chronic inflammation—particularly in patients who have struggled to find answers in traditional care models.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Antonatos served on the front lines as a hospital medicine physician at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital in Illinois while simultaneously expanding virtual care through Text2MD. Over the course of the pandemic, he personally cared for more than 16,000 patients, gaining deep clinical insight into the downstream effects of viral illness, inflammation, insulin resistance, and metabolic dysfunction.

As patient needs evolved, Dr. Antonatos recognized a critical gap in care: many individuals—both post-COVID and non-COVID—were experiencing weight gain, fatigue, hormonal imbalance, insulin resistance, and persistent metabolic disruption. These issues were often treated in isolation rather than addressed as interconnected physiologic processes.

In response, he shifted his focus toward metabolic optimization and weight-loss medicine, integrating GLP-1 therapies, lifestyle intervention, and individualized monitoring into a physician-led model of care. His approach emphasizes appropriate patient selection, safe dosing, long-term planning, and sustainability—rather than quick fixes or automated prescribing.
