Your questions, answered

Feel ready for your visit.

How do I get started?

Start your consultation request, choose everyday / urgent care, and check availability in your state. Select text or video, share your concern, and review the visit details and fee before booking.

Should I choose text or video?

Text lets you describe your concern and share relevant photos through messaging. Video lets you talk with your physician face to face online. Choose the available option that fits your preference and concern; your physician may recommend a different format or an in-person assessment if it would help your care.

What should I share for a refill request?

Include the medication name, dose, how you take it, your pharmacy, and any available prescription label or records. Mention recent monitoring and side effects. Your physician reviews the information and your health history to recommend the next steps. Controlled substances are not prescribed through Text2MD.

Do I need tests before booking?

You can book without arranging new lab work first. Bring any relevant results you already have. Your symptoms and evaluation guide whether testing, such as a urine test, would help, with options and separate costs discussed as part of your care.

Can I get antibiotics or other medication?

Your physician reviews your symptoms, history, allergies, and current medications to recommend treatment. When a prescription is part of your plan, provide your preferred pharmacy details during intake. Medication choices reflect the findings of your evaluation.

What if I have several symptoms or a complex ongoing condition?

List your main concern and other relevant symptoms during intake. A focused urgent-care visit addresses a short-term issue or routine refill request. Several ongoing conditions or a detailed treatment review may benefit from a broader visit; your physician can help guide the next step and review the visit format and fees.

How do I ask questions after my consultation?

Keep care-related questions and updates in your app messages. Your physician can guide whether an update relates to the current visit or whether a follow-up evaluation would help. Any additional visit format and fees can be reviewed before booking.

When should I seek in-person or emergency care?

For chest pain, severe trouble breathing, fainting, or another medical emergency, call 911 or seek emergency care. Urinary symptoms with fever, chills, back or side pain, or vomiting need prompt clinical assessment. Share other new or worsening symptoms with a clinician so the right level of care can be arranged.

For a medical emergency, call 911 or seek emergency care. Online urgent care supports everyday, non-emergency concerns.
